Merchants’ Academy Sports Facilities
Merchants’ Academy is a state-of-the-art campus with excellent sports provision. During the school day, students have access to a range of facilities including two new sports halls, a multi-use games area, astroturf sports pitches, a dance studio and a fitness suite.
Students can access all of these facilities during PE lessons or during co-curricular activities after school. The facilities are also used regularly by our partner primary schools. These facilities are bookable after school through the Merchants’ Academy Sports Centre. For contact details please see the bottom of this page.
Merchants’ Academy Sports Centre
Merchants’ Academy Sports Centre is a brand new fully-equipped sports facility open to members of the general public.
Situated on the site of the new Merchant’s Academy, off Gatehouse Avenue, Withywood, the centre was taken over and refurbished by the Society of the Merchant Venturers for the use of the local community.
Merchants’ Academy Sports Centre now has some of the finest sporting facilities in the south of Bristol. We offer a range of specialist indoor facilities, including a dance studio, state-of-the-art gym and cricket training centre.
We also have two modern sports halls available for hire, home to various exercise classes, badminton courts, trampolining clubs and children’s parties.
Now that our NEW outdoor facilities are completed, including astro-turf pitches and a multi-use games area, we can cater for an even wider range of sports and activities.
