- Make Revision cards
– Summarise key points in easy to digest chunks and stick them everywhere. - Plan a timetable
– Aim to spend at least 1 hour on each subject per week. Use the time productively. - Stick to your plans
– Don’t give up when it gets difficult or if your friends call round for you. There’s plenty of time after your exams. - Switch off
– Not you but anything electrical. Phones, laptops, computers, tv’s are a distraction when trying to revise
– you can catch up on missed calls after your revision. - Little and often
– Aim to spend no more than 45 minutes in any one go. - Take a break
– After 45 minutes of hard work spend 15 minutes doing something more physical, get the blood pumping and the brain refreshed. - Relax
– Sleep is important to give you a fresh start in the mornings. Try to go to bed early – you can stay up as late as you like after your exams. - Start early
– revision first thing in the morning when your brain is clear can be 10 times more effective than revising at night. - Eat healthy
– good brain foods are bananas, fish and tomatoes. Avoid coffee and chocolates. - Remember why you are doing it
