Daz Davey
read moreDaz has been solid at centre back this year. He is extremely strong in the tackle and is dominate in the air. Has an eye for a pass and scores the odd goal. Daz scored the first ever goal to be scored by a Merchants’ Football Academy player. Daz is a good leader and communicates well with the rest of the back four.
Jack Prosser
read moreJack is tall, strong and quick and recently has been adapted to left back because of his strength in getting into wide attacking positions. He is very good in the air and technically sound on the floor.
Jordan Devey
read moreJordan can play a number of positions, but has recently produced some outstanding performances at centre half. He is very quick and his recovery as a defender is outstanding. Jordan reads the game very well and is strong in the tackle. He has the ability to bring the ball out from the back and use his more attacking abilities to start attacks for the team.
Keaton Pullen
read moreKeaton can play in a number of positions either in midfield or up front. He has a good first touch and is technically very good. Keaton can cause problems when running at defenders with the ball using his skill and strength.
Dylan Whittle
read moreDylan can play anywhere in midfield both in wide positions and in the centre. He likes to get forward and has scored some fantastic goals for the team. Dylan is technically very good with a good range of pass. He can make powerful runs from midfield and uses his strength and speed to cause problems for the opposition.
Jack Bennett
read moreJack can play anywhere in midfield both in wide areas and in the centre. He is a very capable player who at times can pass the ball through an eye of a needle. Jack is technically very good with a good first touch and a good range of pass.
Jack Medjedoub
read moreJack is the captain of Merchants’ Football Academy. Jack works tirelessly for his team and has a tremendous work ethic. He is a versatile player who is strong in the tackle and technically very good. Jack can play defensively but is also very capable of going forward with a keen eye for goal.
Jacob O’Donnell
read moreJacob is a natural striker and has the ability to relax in front of goal. He is a quality finisher who makes intelligent runs off the ball. Jacob has a fantastic left foot and first touch. Recently he has started to improve his all round game to become a more complete forward player.

Jordan Brown
read moreJordan is a consistent performer who has shown great improvements in the short time he has had at the Academy. Jordan can play either right or left back and plays passes that are simple but effective. He is defensively very strong and has been one of our best performers. He has tremendous recovery in defensive positions and is strong in the tackle.

read moreJosh is a very skilful player who can play as the main striker or in wide areas. He is very quick over 5 yards and can cause defenders a lot of difficulties. Josh is an intelligent player with a good selection of pass and has fantastic movement off the ball.
Damon Sefton – Coaching Staff
read moreAt Merchants’ Football Academy we strive to not only develop our players to a higher standard of football but also to develop the life skills for students after sixth form. Academy players train to a well structured programme and are expected to maintain a high level of performance. They will be part of the wider Academy in which they will be expected to be role models to younger pupils and play a part in coaching football in the local community. Academy players will have the opportunity to gain football coaching qualifications and other relevant courses for their futures delivered by the Football Association.
Tom Hamill – Goalkeeper Coach
read moreGoalkeeper Coach Tom Hamill has been playing football since the age of 11 years old. Having gone through the ranks at local level he was briefly taken on by Yeovil Town U18/Reserves until a congenital back problem meant 2 years was taken out of the game at 17. Since then Tom has resumed playing at University and is currently on the books at Cheddar Town AFC who play in the Errea Somerset County League. Now a Level One Goalkeeper Coach Tom is looking forward to the challenge of working with some top quality young goalkeepers.
