Merchants' Academy Independent Learning
Independent learning will be set for all students across the Academy. Parents and students will be provided with homework timetables that will guide them regarding the homework that will be set. For Years 7,8 and 9 these timetables are available on this web page, however, for Years 10-13 timetables are set by individual subject teachers.

- Homework will be set dependent on what side of the timetable your child is taught on. They will know this and it will either be the M side or V side.
- Arts include art, drama and music and students may well receive more than one piece of homework in this area. All students should receive at least one piece of work from one of the three subjects on the day identified above.
- Students will be set some homework from an internet programme called “I am learning”. If students do not have access to this they can use the ICT suites after school or the Sherwood Centre.
- Students will also receive some homework from ICT, D&T, and P.E. This will be dependent on when they have these lessons.
