Where do we want to take the Academy? (Our Vision)

Our vision is to ensure that ALL our students achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Our students will leave us:

• Successful learners with good qualifications and motivated to enhance their knowledge and skills to reach their full potential.
• Self Confident individuals who can make informed decisions and communicate them based on their values and beliefs.
• Responsible citizens who respect others and take part responsibly in political, economic, social and cultural life.
• Effective contributors with an energetic, can-do attitude who can lead or work in a team, meeting the challenges of the 21st Century

What are we doing on a daily basis to achieve our long term ambition? (Our Mission)

• Every child is different, and we work with determination and commitment to help each of them to develop, discover and value their own talents and interests.  All this is done in a stimulating and safe environment with high quality teaching and learning, together with personal support and challenge for every student.
• We provide a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities for our students to stretch and grow.
• We strongly support exploration of career choices through our curriculum provision and careers advice and guidance. This ultimately improves the chances of our students going into well rewarded, fulfilling and enjoyable jobs and higher education courses.
• We strive, each day, to improve all aspects of Academy life so that we will be an outstanding Academy.
• Our ethos emphasises the need for respect, discipline, perseverance and high aspirations and standards. In doing so we multiply the chances of our young people feeling proud of everything they do.

Our values support what we do as they are enduring and timeless. They will also prepare us for a future we cannot see.  At our Academy we believe in the ‘Bristol’ values:

• We provide excellent teaching. Over 91% of our lessons were rated as good or better in our Ofsted inspection.
• We have great facilities in a school complex that is as modern as it is possible to be.
• We have the support of our sponsors, the Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol, for giving students unrivalled help in progressing into higher education and the world of work.
• We have an exceptional range of co-curricular activities, including sport and the only Army Cadet Force in the state educational system.
• We believe in partnership, not just with our young people but also our parents/carers and the community.
