Merchants’ Academy Sixth Form aims to provide students with knowledge, understanding and experiences that are essential for the successful transition from school to university, employment or further training. We know that this is a critical time for students and we are committed to ensuring that our sixth formers leave the Academy with skills that will prepare them for adult life.

We understand that each student has their own ambitions and aspirations; we want to help make these achievable, by offering support, guidance and courses that will enable our students to leave the Academy with qualifications that are held in high regard by universities and employers.

We also want students to have the opportunity to try new activities, meet new people and test their skills and capabilities. We hope that our students will leave Merchants’ Academy with a unique set of memories and knowing they have gained more than their academic qualifications. We provide students with the chance to develop their leadership skills and we expect all students to take part in community service and enrichment activities.

We know that post 16 students are faced with choices and decisions which will change their futures and shape their lives. We offer excellent opportunities for careers’ guidance and our tutor system ensures that students receive individual support, particularly with their applications for universities and colleges.
